Тhe Municipality of Sofia became the first certified Bulgarian municipality on November 18, 2020, within the framework the European Cooperation Project (ECP8) "European Network of Authenticity.
Sofia is the capital and the largest city in Bulgaria. It is also the main administrative, cultural and educational center, where 1/6 of the industrial production of Bulgaria is concentrated.
Here are also the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, many universities, theaters, cinemas, as well as the National Gallery, archeological, historical, natural history and other museums. Visible archeological monuments from Roman times have been preserved in many places in the city center. Also in Sofia are the Church of “St. Sophia”; “St. Alexander Nevsky” Cathedral - built in the period 1904-1912; The church "St. Petka Samardzhiyska", which is located in the center of Sofia and is from the XV century. The capital has many historical, cultural and tourist attractions, but in the same is a modern and dynamic European city.
The motto of the capital is "Grows but does not grow old", which is also part of the coat of arms of the city.
Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Municipality of Sofia, in cooperation with various stakeholders, a series of activities to raise awareness related to intellectual property will be carried out over the next two years.
