The well-known Bulgarian specialist in the field of intellectual property Mr. Vladimir Yossifov received an honorary plaquette from the President of the Patent Office in recognition and gratitude for his long-standing work for the development of intellectual property in Bulgaria.
Vladimir Yossifov is a long-standing professional in the field of intellectual property and innovation, implementation of inventions and technology transfer, scientific and technical and patent information. Since 1981 he has worked at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), holding various management positions over the years. He was the Director of the Directorate for the Promotion of Innovation and Development of Intellectual Property Structures of WIPO, and is one of the internationally proven specialists. During his time there, he led WIPO's Patent Information Services for Developing Countries program; participated in and led the development and implementation of the national infrastructure to promote and support innovation and invention, invention and new technology transfer in various countries; developed and led WIPO's Inventor and Creator Awards program, and established and developed WIPO's University Initiative. At various times, he has been Chairman of the Board of the United Nations Pension Fund and is currently a member. He was also the Chair of the Lisbon Assembly from 2015 to 2017.
Since 2009 he has been listed in the Register of Industrial Property Representatives in Bulgaria.
Vladimir Yossifov has organized more than 400 national, regional and international conferences, symposia, courses and other initiatives in the field of IP in more than 80 countries; he has delivered more than 300 reports and lectures on innovation activities, patent and scientific and technical information, evaluation and commercialization of inventions and new technologies, trademark management, etc. Consultant to associations, organizations and companies working in the field of intellectual property.
With his high professionalism and many years of experience Mr. Yossifov has undoubtedly contributed to the development of the intellectual property protection system and to the elevation of Bulgaria's international standing.
