TM5/ID5 Joint Message on their response to COVID-19

The TM5 and ID5 partners adopted aJointMessage on their response to COVID-19reaffirming their commitment to assisting trade mark and design owners and users.

The pandemic has had significant impacts on the global economy, and given the substantial share of intellectual property rights-intensive industries involved in the world’s economic output, the partner offices recognise their roles in helping businesses revitalise their activities. TM5/ID5 collaborative efforts will continue to focus on working towards more user-friendly and interoperable trade mark and design systems, providing reliable customer-centred services, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.

The “TM5″ is a framework through which five intellectual property offices - the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC (CNIPA), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Japan Patent Office (JPO), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) exchange information on trademark-related matters, and undertake cooperative activities for their mutual benefit, and for the interests of their respective trademark filers and registrants.

ID5 is a website that is organized by ID5 (Industrial Design Five Forum: CNIPA, EUIPO, JPO, KIPO, USPTO) to promote and further the development of user-friendly, highly-efficient, and interoperable industrial design protection systems since 2017.
