The Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria /BPO, the Office/ is pleased to inform you that it has completed the implementation of 55 new electronic services within the framework of Operational Programme “Innovations and Competitiveness“ 2014 – 2020 /OPIC/, Project № BG16RFOP002-1.004-0002-C04.
The new services were made available on 12 October 2020 and will enable users to submit electronic requests for:
-Changes in representation concerning Patent,
Utility Model, European Patent Filings;
-Changes in correspondence address in Patent,
Utility Model, European Patent Filings;
-Filing of complaints
against refusal for granting /termination of patents/ suspension of granted
patents.
-Renewal of utility models;
-Withdrawal of patent applications;
-Withdrawal of applications for
European Patents;
-Waiver of right to granted patents;
-Waiver of right to registered utility
models;
-Waiver of right to European Patents with
effect on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and other requests concerning
Patents, Utility Models and European Patents;
The new e-services will significantly facilitate the SMEs and citizens in exercising their IP rights.
Over the past year, the Office has implemented 76 new e-services, facilitating to the utmost citizens and the business, providing them with the possibility of remote submission of requests and applications in the absence of physical contact, thus minimising the risk of contamination with COVID – 19.
The aim of the BPO is to meet to the maximum extent the needs of citizens and the public in the scope of accessibility of service, better organisation and introduction of new technologies.
The services are available through the e-services Portal https://portal.bpo.bg and through the website of the Officewww.bpo.bg.
Signing with a Certified Electronic Signature (CEP) will be required to request the services.
