Questionnaire on the period of publication of international registrations under the Hague System for International Registration of Industrial Designs.
The purpose of the questionnaire is to provide non-governmental organizations (NGOs) representing users of the Hague System with an opportunity to comment on the proposed extension of the standard period for publishing international registrations from the current six months to 12 months.
The proposal to extend the current standard publication period to 12 months aims to ensure that the original objective of the standard publication scheme is achieved by bringing the standard publication period closer to the actual publication deferral period used by local systems in many countries members of the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs. In general, the publication of an international registration shall take place six months after the date of the international registration (hereinafter referred to as the "standard publication"), unless the applicant requests immediate publication or postponement of the publication, which may not exceed 30 months under the Geneva Act. (1999) or 12 months under the Hague Agreement (1960), from the date of submission of the application for registration or, where priority is requested, from the date of priority.
The questionnaire contains 5 questions, and the answers must be sent by August 15, 2020 to e-mail hague.registry@wipo.int
