The application for effect of a European patent on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria shall be submitted to the Patent Office by the holder of the European patent or through an industrial property representative, directly, by mail or by fax.
The application for effect of a European patent on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, the translation of the description, claims and drawings, where any, in the issued European patent and the publication fees under the Tariff of Fees Collected by the Patent Office must be received by the Patent Office within 3 months of the publication of a notice of the grant of a European patent in the European Patent Bulletin.
With the expiration of this term the European patent has no effect on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
When the description and / or patent claims of the European patent, which is already effective on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, are changed in opposition / restriction proceedings before the European Patent Office the holders of European patents with effect on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria shall, within 3 months from the date of publication of the amendment by the European Patent Office, take action before the Patent Office.
