The subject of protection is an original topology, which is a combination of known elements and connections between them which is the result of the own intellectual efforts of its creator and is not known among the creators of topologies and manufacturers of integrated circuits at the time of its creation.
The protection of the topology is effective from the date of its first commercial use by the applicant, anywhere in the world, if a regular application is filed with the Patent Office within two years from that date.
The protection shall be terminated ten years after the end of the calendar year in which the registration took effect.
The holder of the right to topology may waive his right with a written declaration to the Patent Office. The waiver of one or more of the co-owners does not lead to the termination of the legal protection in respect of the other co-owners.
