The legal protection of a geographical indication in Bulgaria is granted through its registration with the Patent Office.
The right of application belongs to any person who carries out his production activity belongs to any person who carries out his production activity in the defined geographical location, and the goods he produces correspond to the established qualities or features. The boundaries of the geographical location and the qualities or features of the goods, as well as the connection of these qualities or features with the geographical environment or with the geographical origin shall be determined and established by the respective central office by order of its head.
The right to use a registered geographical indication has only the person (s) who is / are registered as its user (s).
